Union Secrets

Union SecretsSince New Jersey is not a ‘Right-to-Work’ state, we may not opt out of paying dues totally but we can request diminished dues and therefore not pay to a union’s political platforms, (like the SEIU's $60.7 million for Obama's campaign!), and you can refrain from full dues for religious reasons even without a church affiliation. (See National Right-to-Work)

What HPAE does not want you to know, as demonstrated in Pattern Makers v. National Labor Relations Board, is that you can resign your voluntary membership, pay reduced dues, work during a strike, and still receive the same ‘bargained for’ benefits as your voluntary colleague at any time! You may not vote or run for office within the union, however they may not fine or discipline you for infractions (such as working during a strike!) and believe us, they will!. (See 1-888-NO-UNION.COM)

  • Twelve union members in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania were fined as much as $3,000 for exercising their legal right-to-work during a strike (Source: National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation)
  • A union member was fined $1,000 for resigning from membership in the Union (12-CB-4948)
  • One union member was fined $250,000 and expelled from his union for starting a website critical of the union. (Our personal favorite, talk about giving away your right to free speech!)

Let's talk about union corruption! HPAE was interested in tossing around the salary of our CEO and his bonus during their less-than-stellar campaign. However, if you go to the government site, United States Department of Labor, you can view the LM2‘s or finances, (at least what is claimed), on any union. Suffice to say the salaries of union president's, et al, far outweigh most hospital CEO’s.

We also suggest you visit the Office of Labor-Management Standards to read the letter HPAE was sent in concerning their non-compliance in regards to their bonding of their employees in 2007. (See U.S. Department of Labor)
